The Effects of Last Minute Tourism

Booming Business

In this day and age, business is booming in the travel industry, especially with the rise and fall of covid-19 spurring more and more people to travel the world, but did you know tourism can have extremely negative affects on our earth if you’re not careful!

When travelling to popular places like, hawaii or dubai, houses and accommodation rent is slowly rising, and has been since the pandemic. This is a big problem for the locals, who may not have access to the funds that tourists own, leading to overcrowding and not being able to afford to live in their towns, some locals have even been forced out of their homes!

Overstretched Destinations

Travelers can be badly behaved, putting strain on the locals plus their resources and negatively affecting the residents lives. For example, tourists with no cultural awareness and volume control have been asked to leave quaint villages, as they have been disturbing the peace, and alcohol restrictions have been placed in Ibiza and makagulfs nightlife destinations to maintain control over rowdy streets.

If you’re not careful, tourism can threaten natural attractions! lots of countries promote their stunning features and attractions, but that’s no excuse to cause damage or to litter those wonderful places, we must find the balance between enjoying ourselves and preserving local ecosystems!
