PAPP 2024 Beach Clean Itinerary

Below please find itinerary for 2024 Beach Clean.

Group 1 – PAPP Trustees and Volunteers

28th August – Group 1 Arriving at Kings Green Campsite Port William

Group 1 are a smaller group of trustees and adhoc volunteers. The 28th will be spent primarily travelling, arriving at Port William, setting up camp (Kings Green Campsite), and a couple of people will go and check access for the following day. If the landowners agree we will cut vegetation back along path, ready for next day.

29th August – Group 2 Arrive St Ninians Cave Car Park

A group of people for a traffic survey company will be arriving on the 29th. Estimated time of arrival 9.30am. Congregate Here. (Group 2 – Please try to minimise number of cars). We may leave some cars at St Ninians car park and go down to beach in fewer cars and access / parking is limited.

Work: Picking up and carrying plastic. Can focus on bigger stuff, or can pick and area and work on removing small pieces. It’s all good. Help loading trailer appreciated. If you would like to learn a bit more about the work, have a look at below video (it’s the same beach we are going to):

Meals Refreshments

0930 – Coffee and Cake

1130 – Tea and Biscuits

1300 – Lunch (Probably Sandwiches)

1500 – Afternoon Snack

1700 – Back to Set Up Camp for Dinner (Beers / Fish & Chips or Chilli Provided)

Note on Camping

We have booked spaces for 30 people with small tents at Kings Green Campsite. If you intend to bring a camper van, or caravan then please make arrangements with the campsite directly. If bring live in vehicle, you may also need to consider arriving at campsite earlier and getting a lift to beach, to avoid congestion at St Ninians Car Park.

30th August – Bit more Work and then Group 2 leaving PM 30th.

Continue work from day before.

0930 – Coffee / Tea & Breakfast Sandwich

1130 – Tea and Biscuits (Probably Sandwiches)

1300 – Lunch

1330 – Group 2 Depart. Thanks in advance! 🙂

31st August – Group 1 Tidy Up

Hopefully we will have a fairly serious back log of trash to run to recycling centre. Group 1 to load in to trailer and transport.

1st September – Group 1 Depart

Group 1 Leave on the 1st.
