PAPP 2026 Beach Clean Itinerary
Howdy for those amazing people who are volunteering this year, this is roughly what will happen.
Generally each day you will be fed with 3 meals and do about 4 to 6 hours “work”.
Work = Lots of walking, picking stuff up and that sort of thing.
The camp ground has hot showers, and proper toilets.
Its nice and flat, but it can be quite windy so bring lots of warm layers.
This year the plan is as follows:
Thursday 16th July 2026
Initial group travelling to Port William Camp Ground to set up camp.
Friday 17th July 2026
We will drive the quad bike down the coast to squash down some of the bracken etc. so we have a path to walk on.
Walk along quad bike path and start picking up rubbish. Put rubbish in piles or in dumpy bags.
You can run around picking up big stuff, or find one spot and do a really though clean its up to you. Video so you can see what it is like:
(We have a quad bike now, so there are no giant rucksacks required. )
Saturday 18th July 2026
There may well be a bunch of extra people arriving from Glasgow on this day. But we are not sure.
But hoping this will be our most productive day. With most people.
Sunday 19th July 2026
Not sure of group size on this day. But a combination of stockpiling and also running stuff back to skip with quad bike and trailer.
Monday 20th July 2026
Hopefully by this point the the beach will nearly be done, and we will be ferrying stuff back from beach stockpiles to the skip(s). So really a final tidy up day, and early finish for swim and more beer than usual.

Homewards we all swiftly glide.
You have mad a big difference to the shore at Claymoddie and Glasserton. Great to see you are planning another visit to the Machars and may be we can help get some local beach cleaners involved this year.
